Egle Stakeliunaite

Egle was born and raised in Lithuania, where she later completed her Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy at Vilnius University. During her four years of study, she volunteered in the health sector and completed multiple internships in various hospitals and a kindergarten focused on children with special needs. Egle also had the unique opportunity to work at a dolphin therapy center, where dolphins are integrated into therapeutic programs for children.

As part of the NORDPlus program Physiotherapy in a Changing World: Optimal Aging and Digitalization Egle participated in a one-week intensive course in Denmark, where she worked on these topics alongside students from other Northern European countries. Additionally, during the summer breaks of her Bachelor's degree, she participated in a Work and Travel program in the USA. After herfinal visit there, she spent three months traveling through South America and continued later to explore other regions, including South Asia, Southern Europe, and Northern Africa.

These travel experiences deepened Egle's awareness of planetary health and reinforced my commitment to addressing climate change, protecting ecosystems and biodiversity, and promoting human well-being. She is about to begin her first internship related to climate change adaptation and resilience at the Stockholm Environment Institute center in Tallinn. She is very excited about the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while continuing to learn and grow.

In addition to her passion for cultural exchange and exploring diverse natural landscapes, Egle enjoys spending time with people, staying active through sports, reading, and attending cultural events. She feels a deep connection to the mountains - they bring her a profound sense of peace and gratitude.

Egle started to work as a student assistant at the Chair of Planetary & Public Health in May 2025.
