When it buzzes and bites: Our video animation on the MS Wissenschaft

Why are mosquito species like the Asian tiger mosquito spreading in Europe? Which diseases do they transmit, and what actions can be taken? Our animation video answers these questions and is now an element of the University of Bayreuth's exhibition on the MS Wissenschaft.

The video connects climate change, biodiversity, and health in an accessible and engaging way, illustrating what Planetary Health means in practice: that the environment, animals, and humans are inseparably linked.

The MS Wissenschaft is a floating exhibition ship. It travels under the theme "Medicine of the Future" to approximately 35 cities across Germany and Austria from May to September 2026. The University of Bayreuth is represented with its own station. This is a joint project of the Chair of Biogeography and the Chair of Planetary & Public Health.
